Samarthananam Trust with support from United Way Mumbai and The Coca- Cola Foundation continues its support to frontline COVID-19 warriors of Karnataka
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled continued with its COVID Relief Services, reaching out to people with disabilities, senior citizens, economically poor sections, Hospitals, Police, Front line warriors and emergency service personnel. The Bengaluru based Non-Profit Organization initiated the COVID Relief Services to cover the disabled 0communities, the poor, Hospitals, Police and Frontline workers helping them sustain amid these difficult times.
To launch “COVID-19 Response-Coca Cola” campaign in North Karnataka, a flag off event was organized at HDMC office Hubbali on Monday, June 22, 2020. The program was launched by Shri Jagadish Shettar, Hon Minister of Large & Medium Scale Industries, Govt. of Karnataka; Shri Arvind Bellad, MLA, Hubbali- Dharwad West Constituency; Shri Suresh Itnal (KAS) Commissioner, HDMC, Hubbali- Dharwad; Dr. Honnakeri (DHO), Dharwad; Shri Muragesh Channanavr, CPI Traffic police station, Dharwad; Dr. R. C. Antartani, Director, KIMS, Shri M. S. Patil, Sub Inspector, Town Police Station, Hubli; Shri Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, Founder Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and Shri Uday Kumar, Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.
The ambitious program, “COVID-19 Response- Coca- Cola’’, an initiative of United Way Mumbai supported by The Coca-Cola foundation and implementing partner Samarthanaman Trust for the Disabled, at Hubbali, gave away relief kits with medical essentials to health care workers, Police personnel and Sanitation Workers and ASHA workers. The Kits contained PPE kits, N95 masks, nitrile gloves, 3 Ply masks, ICU Beds for hospitals and sanitation kits including hand wash and sanitizers.
Samarthanam Trust initiated the Relief Services in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic outbreak in India, which has crippled the livelihood of many people from weaker sections and the disabled. The organization has been distributing Relief Kits with basic necessities for the sustenance of poor and marginalized.
Samarthanam extends a helping hand to the brave workers across the State who have been carrying out their duties, helping the society, combating the Coronavirus and containing the spread of the infection. We hope the equipment will prove to be beneficial to these professionals and aid in their self-care. As we all follow the rules of staying home, social distancing, and proper hygiene, we look forward to witnessing a COVID free nation soon.
