Samarthanam pays tribute to Sir Ambareesh with ‘Ambi Namana’

In honor of the late Kannada actor, Sir Ambareesh, Samarthanam organized ‘Ambi Namana,’ mega music and dance charity tribute concert on the 3rd of March starting 5:30pm at National College Grounds, Basavanagudi, Bangalore.More than 25,000 people have come together to pay tribute to the Man of Mandaya. The mega-musical extravaganza was a resounding success and we would like to individually thank each and every supporter who has made the event a milestone in the journey of Samarthanam.

The event was inaugurated by Mayor Gangambike Mallikarjun, the late actor’s wife Sumalatha, President of KFCC, Chinne Gowda, Samarthanam Founder Managing Trustee, Mahantesh GK.

“Those who live in the hearts of others never die and Ambareesh will always be in our heart,” said Sumalatha.

The invitees included renowned singers Dr. S P Balasubramaniam, Sri. Hamsalekha, Gurukiran, Manjula Gururaj, Anuradha Bhatt, Archana Udupa, and Nandhitha.

The legendary singer Dr. SP Balasubrahmanyam mesmerized the audience with his amazing singing performance. The other renowned actors and singers from the Kannada Film Industry delivered a glittering performance on stage. The highlight of the event was the scintillating performance by the visually impaired artists from Sunadha troupe.

“Samarthanam from the inception has always had the support of the Kannada film fraternity and I’m grateful for their support,” said Mahantesh GK, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust.

The orchestra was led by drummer Mr. Arun and dance choreography by Mr. Mohan. Eminent artists of the Kannada film fraternity who have worked with Mr Ambareesh during his versatile journey with the sandalwood industry namely Rockline Venkatesh, V Ravichandran, Shivarajkumar were among other artists who participated in the event.

Sri Shivaram S, Producer and Actor from Kannada film industry, said, “It is a happy coincidence that we have decided to conduct a mega charity musical tribute on the same day as 1934 when the Kannada talkie took birth I’m proud to say that the entire film industry is with the organisation.”

Ambi Namana was organized in aid of Samarthanam’s Barrier-Free Residential Building for Girl students with Disabilities and the Elderly that is being constructed at JP Nagar, Bangalore. The funds raised during the charity musical event will be channeled to support the construction of Barrier Free Residential Building at JP Nagar.
