Samarthanam launches ‘Tailoring and Beautician Project’ on Women’s Day
Samarthanam Trust celebrated International Women’s Day with the launch of ‘Tailoring and Beautician’ Project where women from various sectors can take up tailoring and beauty learning courses, build knowledge in these avenues and gain practical experience. The objective of the initiative was to improve employment opportunities and also to encourage self-employment prospects among women.
The‘Tailoring and Beautician Training Centre’ was inaugurated at Samarthanam HSR premises by Smt Shashikala Jolle, Hon Minister for Women, Child Development and Empowerment of Differently-abled and Senior Citizens, GoK, Smt. K. Latha Narasimha Murthy Former Member BBMP & BJP Member, HSR Layout, Bangalore, Smt Nalina Girish, Proprietor HP Gas Agency, HSR Layout, Bangalore and Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam.
A special unit is designated at Samarthanam Head Quarters in HSR Layout, Bangalore where the training women can make use of the modern machinery and appliances made available for the learning of these courses.
Chief Guest, Smt Shashikala Jolle, Hon Minister for Women, Child Development and Empowerment of Differently-abled and Senior Citizens, GoK, greatly appreciated the programme and said that “Samarthanam’s efforts towards women empowerment include women from various sectors and communities and it is highly commendable.” The Minister also offered to support Samarthanam programmes aimed at empowering the society at large. She spent valuable time interacting with children from Special School for Children with Intellectual Disabilities and distributed kits to all the trainees of the Tailoring and Beautician project.

We are glad that we could launch a very useful project for women on this significant day.
