Project Amita was selected by Citi Foundation as one of its six partner recipients of the 2016 India Innovation Grant Program, given Samarthanam’s ability to foster an open-minded culture that practices dignity for all. Project Amita is well designed to empower youth with special needs to ensure their presence, talents and capabilities are not lost but, rather, valued in the communities we live in, particularly at this stage of India’s inclusive development. We take pride in this partnership that is focused on imparting life skills training to more than 600 individuals, and is in line with the Government’s mission to ensure that persons with special needs enjoy their rights equally with others, under the ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’
