Promoting quality education in Government Schools through STEM Learning
Background
Samarthanam Trust for the disabled initiated STEM learning – Mini science project in the month of April 2021 supported by Otis Elevators. In spite of COVID Pandemic and Lockdown in the cities, Samarthanam was able to launch and achieve significant outcomes.
Objective:
To develop solid knowledge base among students and enhance their interest in Science, Technology and Mathematics, to strengthen the students ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills, to nurture students creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills.
The progress and the updates of the program are
- Under the STEM Education, the number Mini Science Centers installed pan India are 72.
- Bangalore has 16 labs, Gaya 13 labs, Delhi 8 labs, Chennai 8, Mumbai 7, Hyderabad 6 , Pune 10 and Thane 4 labs.

- Inauguration of more MSClass rooms
- Teacher Training Program
Teacher Training Program to be conducted in Science and Maths subject for teachers from 72 schools and familiarizing them with the STEM concepts.

- Karnataka – Bengaluru 16 Schools
- Telangana – Hyderabad 6 Schools
- Bihar – Gaya 13 Schools
- Delhi – Delhi 8 Schools
- Maharashtra – Mumbai 7 Schools , Pune 10 and Thane 4 Schools
- Monitoring & Evaluation
The Monitoring & Evaluation feedback session to be conducted to teachers and the students gauging their understanding and their learning on concepts of the MSC.
