Mental Health- A State of Well-being
Name :Ishan I
With technology becoming smarter day by day and the way we are spending more time with technology than with people around us, Mental Health is becoming more important than it ever was. This is an aspect of our well-being which is usually ignored and only gets noticed when it has gone too far. If we are not taking care of our Mental Health, then it can lead us to many serious physical conditions. Depression and anxiety are the most common conditions which occur if we fail to take care of our Mental Health and let’s not forget that it can lead to many more diseases too.
Our thinking process helps us in achieving many things in our lives. But as it has been always said, excess of everything is harmful. If we keep thinking about something which affects us in a negative way and if we are not able to control those thoughts, then it is a sign that we are moving towards depression and anxiety. It is fine if we take time to reflect on self, but it has to be to an extent that it does not affect the self to a great extent.
Society plays a huge role in the way each one of us live. Unfortunately, society doesn’t give importance to Mental Health and as a result if someone is suffering from a condition related to Mental Health, society will try to isolate the person instead of helping him/her to come out of that condition. If we live in a society which encourages each one to share their problems and willing to understand them emotionally then there are better chances that every individual will be able to come out of that condition.
Mental Health is something which has no medication. Medications can only give temporary relief, in fact in most of the cases it will lead to addiction and makes the condition worse. Meditation and Yoga have been helping people to cope up with Mental Health issues for a long time now. With no side effects this is the best way to prevent anyone from getting any Mental Health issues. Results have shown that it can help the affected recover from severe depression. As it has been always said prevention is better than cure so it is better to make meditation and yoga a habit so that we are fit both Mentally and Physically.
In today’s fast paced lives,we seem to be forgetting our identity, a major reason for Mental Health issues. If enough time and attention is given to address these issues, then the repercussions might not be serious. The best ways to prevent such issues from happening is to cultivate a habit of practicing Meditation and Yoga daily. This helps us to become physically fit and also helps us to find the purpose of our existence. The sense of positivity received from making this as apart of our regular life will prevent us from being affected with Mental Health issues in future.
