Training on inclusive education, an initiative by Samarthanam in association with the Govt of Punjab
Samarthanam Punjab: As part of the Punjab MoU, one of the activities was “Training on Inclusive Education for School teachers, School Heads & District Heads.” Comprising of the following two activities:
- Development of a module by Samarthanam on Inclusive Pedagogy.
- From each district, 15 teachers/ cluster heads would be selected to be trained for 2 days on inclusive pedagogy. This training will comprise techniques for classroom management, classroom organization for inclusion and teaching techniques.
In all, 330 teachers would be trained in a total of 5 batches.
Training of the first batch was conducted on 29th-30th August in Chandigarh. 80 Centre Headteachers took part in this training workshop. On Day I, the participants were trained on the concept, philosophy, principles of inclusion, the role of teachers, etc. Day- II was devoted to Effective Teaching and on Role of parents and School Management Committees on inclusion.
