Samarthanam Livelihood Resource Center, Bangalore makes way to Smart+ Centre
Samarthanam initiated a breakthrough transformation of one of its primary initiative, Livelihood & Skilling popularly known as the ‘Livelihood Resource Center.’
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled established a new synergy with the Tech Mahindra Group who seamlessly dedicate 10% of their overall CSR to the Persons with Disabilities. This time around they have surpassed the horizon of quality education by introducing the Smart+ Training Program in association with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled which is a breakthrough in Skilling and Livelihood Training. Smart+ stands for Skill for Market Training.
Mr. Jyotish, LRC, Bangalore hosted the inauguration ceremony where he welcomed the Tech Mahindra Foundation dignitaries which included Mr. Chetan Kapoor, COO; Mr. Jagan, Sr Manager; Mr. Raja, CSR Manager, to name a few
The ever-encouraging role model and personality Shri Mahantesh GK, Founder Managing Trustee, Samarthanam delivered an inspiring speech where he spoke about the importance of Technology. He said, “Technology does not Discriminate; hence, making use of it to learn and outshine in today’s competitive mainstream is not a choice but a necessity.”
He further stated that securing a job and becoming a taxpaying citizen of the country is an honor in itself that professes self-sustenance and independence which will make him and the organization proud of the feat achieved by the beneficiaries enrolled in the Samrt+ Training Program.
The students were thus motivated which reflected in their enthusiasm when they agreed with Shri Mahantesh and promised him that they will make use of this wonderful opportunity and become the taxpayers of the country.
The Smart+ Training Program is structured to offer competitive job training courses like BFSI (Banking Finance Sector and Insurance), BPO, IT, Communications, etc.
“We aim at training more than 120 students via this program.”, said one of the Program Coordinators of Samarthanam.
The National LRC Head of Samarthanam, Mr. Chandrashekar delivered the Vote of Thanks where he extended his appreciation to the Tech Mahindra dignitaries who despite their busy scheduled traveled all the way to Bangalore to participate in the inauguration of this breakthrough redefined skilling initiative of Samarthanam. He further thanked, Shri Mahantesh for his support and guidance for always being there as the guiding beacon to not only the staff and faculty but as the life-changing personality who has influenced the lives of many children and youth with disabilities and the underprivileged. He further thanked Mr. Kumarswamy CR, Sr Manager Individual & Corporate Partnerships for enabling the venture which took route after the intervention of the Fundraising Team.
And thus, the event ended on a happy note when Mr. Jagan from Tech Mahindra said that you don’t need celebrities when the chief guests are the likes of Shri Mahantesh and the eager students making the event a lively and happy episode which is the prelude to their successful future going forward.
