Chernobylite preview friv game

Love pushes people to do crazy things that go far beyond logic and common sense. Igor returns to Chernobyl after three decades to try to find the traces of his fiancée, who appears to him in his dreams and in real life with a single request - find me. What is the current ambitious project Chernobylite - I tell you in the preview.

Games with a radioactive stalker overlay are shot a little less often than we would like. The reasons are basically obvious: the creators of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series set a high bar, and the developers of Metro  Friv2Online Games Studio built their own somewhere nearby and raised it a lot too. I, being a fan of "this business" approached Chernobylite with a suitcase of skepticism, and then rushed to study all these monuments, memorials and posters, and left it on the threshold of the Soviet door.

As it turned out, the Poles from The Farm 51 approached the issue thoroughly. I was pleased to note that the friv game does not copy GSC's brainchild at all, but on the contrary - it demonstrates a curious combination of such genre solutions as resource management, construction, crafting, role-playing story friv game and walking simulator with elements of psychological thriller, which with enviable regularity turns into outright survival horror.

The case takes place in the long-suffering Chernobyl, where the protagonist returns in search of his lost fiancée Tatiana. Both of them in their younger years worked at the same nuclear power plant. Tanya is a nuclear physicist by profession, Igor is also a man of science and stalkerism for him is a foreign matter, but there is no choice - the city is combed by armed soldiers, the main forces are concentrated around the destroyed core, where as a result of the disaster appeared Chernobylite.

In the game, this luminous mineral is an inexhaustible source of energy - an ideal battery for a new device that Igor has built by hand. The portal generator is capable of splitting the boundaries of space and time. With its help the protagonist intends to fulfill his mission.

Igor, in the company of a couple of tough guys, sneaks into the wounded heart of the nuclear power plant to get a fragment of Chernobylite, but at the last moment they are attacked by a Black Stalker - a very scary man with eyes glowing under the observation glasses of a gas mask.

With the help of a portal gun, the protagonist together with his surviving comrade (the second villain shot dead) move to an abandoned building, from where a breathtaking view of the Chernobyl hulk opens up. Now that the device is working and the city is within easy reach, it remains to develop a plan to rescue the beloved, collect the necessary information and properly prepare for a new foray into the nuclear power plant.

Chernobylite moves players from one genre to another in the blink of an eye: you play stealth action, maneuvering behind the backs of mercenaries that first shoot and then ask questions; you wade through the surreal visions of Igor, who from time to time thoroughly croaks; you find yourself in a makeshift base, where you communicate with your battle buddies and spend the supplies found in the field.

At this stage in the game, construction and crafting are already available. Despite the relatively small area of the shelter, you can build there a self-sufficient underground arsenal with weapons machines, a chemical laboratory, a medical compartment and even a rest room with all amenities.

When developing a shelter, you will have to take into account its characteristics, such as the level of comfort or the degree of air pollution. For example, if you build another massive unit, you risk being without electricity, and your neighbors will express their displeasure that you are turning their dwelling into a rumbling industrial complex.

After a long introduction, Chernobylite starts counting down the days and adjusts to a certain algorithm, which, if generalized, looks like this: Igor wakes up, gets some plot clue by radio and stomps into the observation room, where he chooses today's sorties.

Go for ammunition, scout the situation, gather resources or intercept a medical supply - the usual events change from day to day in different parts of Chernobyl. The storyline events are in a location and are waiting for your participation. And you can send an ally to any of the areas, and he will cope with the task at hand with a certain chance.

In the course of tasks, Igor gains experience, and with it - social points, in exchange for which the close associates will teach the protagonist new skills. This is how the development of the character occurs, acquiring a kind of perks with abilities and reinforcements. At the end of the raid you meet with your companions at the base, distribute supplies, share news, build something and go to bed - the cycle repeats.

The game has a lot of small and still insufficiently polished nuances, which are modified and multiplied with each new update. What really pleases, which we can already talk about with confidence, is the visuals and the story - both aspects are done perfectly.

Superb sets, an atmosphere of desolation and a vague sense of unease are Igor's inevitable companions. The hero is visited by memories, haunted by voices and visions, he descends into gloomy underground bunkers, explores ruined high-rises filled with ghosts of the past and nightmares generated in the wake of that terrible tragedy.

The only thing that really throws off the mood at this point is the sound. No, the oppressive music and ambient noises are very good, but the voices of the voice actors leave much to be desired. If Igor or Tatiana still more or less organically fit into what's going on, then the side characters often sound very naive. Work in this direction is active, not everything is still voiced, not everything is translated, so changes for the better are quite likely.

With each update Chernobylite is getting better and better. It's obvious that The Farm 51 intends to do their best to bring their project to the ground, and so far their pace is encouraging. Today's version of the friv game leaves generally positive impressions, if we don't forget that it is still in active revision.
