22 years and the journey towards building an inclusive society is still on!

Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled celebrated its 22nd Anniversary on 16th March 2019 at Samarthanam HSR Layout premises and was well attended by corporate delegates, donors, well-wishers, media and supporters who have supported and stood by us in our cause. It was a gala celebration with employees, trainees, and students celebrating the milestone with splendid performances. On the occasion, Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, Founder Managing Trustee of Samarthanam said, “This year has been the most eventful year with various events organized by Samarthanam. The year kicked off with the Cricket Conclave, the inauguration of Skilling Centres, winning Word Cup matches, Ultra Marathon, Ambi Namana, Nagesh Trophy, receiving National awards among other milestones. As I witness the support for Samarthanam’s mission,  I am positive that our goal 2020 will soon reach its mark.”

Mahantesh thanked the audience and guests for gracing the event. He said, “Samarthanam is expanding its wings to reach out to every region in the country. I am extremely proud of the beneficiaries who have excelled in their chosen fields. Today, Samarthanam has spread its centres across the country and we owe our success to the people who have encouraged our initiatives at every level. With many new programs and initiatives in the pipeline, our vision to reach 100,000 persons with disabilities by the year 2020 is not far away.

The event witnessed chief guests Mr Shankar Narayan Reddy, Secretary HSR Club, Shri Venkat Narayan, President, Visheveshwaraiah Co-operative Bank, Mr Ramesh Kumar, Social Worker, Dr Geetha Ramanujam, Founder and Academic Director, GR Educational Institutions and Ex Principal National College and  Mr Anand Reddy.

Dr Geetha Ramanujam challenged the students to not give into failure but to pursue success and happiness.

Ms Harshika Poonacha, celebrity artist shared her thoughts on how the Founders vision, commitment and passion inspired her. She danced to a number along with the Samarthanam beneficiaries.

Overall, the event was a reminder of all the hardwork, the humble beginnings and the journey ahead of equipping, elavating and educating the disabled community of our country.
