Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled takes pleasure in announcing the inauguration of Samarthanam Delhi Center with the support of Citi Foundation on 14 December 2016 at New Delhi. Samarthanam Delhi Centre would focus on catering to people with disabilities and provide them with suitable opportunities across various sectors.

 

The dignitaries present on the occasion were Shri.Thaawarchand Gehlot, Honorable Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Smt.Meenakshi Lekhi, Honorable Member of Parliament, Mr.A K Awasthy, Jt Secretary Department of Disability Affairs, Mr.Shrikant Sinha, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation, Mr.Manish Kumar, American India Foundation, Ajay Chaturvedi, Ex Citibank and Mr.Mahantesh.G.K, Founder Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.

 

Mahantesh G.K, Founder Managing Trustee at Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled in his welcome address said Samarthanam is extremely excited to partner with Citi to spread our presence pan India. Young people with disabilities face the biggest hurdles when they transition to higher education. It is at this stage that we will provide all possible support whether for admissions, financial support, scribes, translations, accommodation to youth with disabilities so their education is uninterrupted and they become truly empowered. Our vocational training centre in Delhi will complement this programme and young disabled people will be provided equal opportunities and platforms.”
