Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) is a sports initiative of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled affiliated to World Blind Cricket Ltd (WBC) and governs Cricket for the Blind in India.
CABI is organizing the second T20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind to be held in India from 28th January to 12th February 2017. CABI is delighted to announce the legendary cricketer and former Indian captain Rahul Dravid as Brand Ambassador for its 2nd T20 World Cup for the Blind. Participating nations for World Cup 2017 include Australia, Bangladesh, England, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and the host, India. 48 Matches will be played including Semi finals and Finals, on league cum knockout basis in multi cities across India.
It is noteworthy to mention that India is the only country which has won all the formats of International Championship including First T20 World Cup in December 2012, ODI World Cup in December 2014 and T20 Asia Cup in January 2016.
The prime objective behind promoting and organizing T20 World Cup for the Blind is to abandon the feeling of denial and dependency from the minds of visually impaired players. On the other hand, the game serves as a medium to kindle the social responsibility in every individual and organization. For successfully organizing the game, we request Companies/Firms/Industries/Organizations/Individuals to come forward, sponsor and support the mega event for a cause. Your support will help us to organize the tournament efficiently, aiding in its smooth execution. We look forward to a positive response from all verticals.
All contributions to this event enjoy tax exemption under section 80G of Indian Income Tax Act.
