Anjaneya, a student of Samarthanam School is a brilliant artist who paints with feet. Anjaneya was born without hands but his creativity and his desire to pursue higher studies did not dwindle. Samarthanam is proud to stand next to him as he displays his artistic skills by drawing with his legs during the occasion of Raja Ravi Varma Award Ceremony. Anjaneya received the Award from Prof. Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki Ji, His Excellency Governor of Haryana.

Chi. Anjeneya, a divyang student from Samarthanam Primary School Bsangalore, has been felicitated with Raja Ravi Verma award for his outstanding drawing skills at a ceremony organized by Megh Mandal Sansthan, in October 2016 at Y B Chavan centre, Mumbai. The award was given away at the hands of Hon. Governor of Haryana Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki, in presence of Union Minister of State External Affairs General VK Singh.

 

The prestigious Raja Ravi Verma award is given to the artists to recognize their contribution in the field of art. “Anjeneya is an outstanding artist who has developed his skill by overcoming the shortcoming of not having both hands and mastering the art with his legs. We are proud of him as he proved that disability is no more a challenge for him”, said Mr.Mahantesh G K, Founder Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the disabled. Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana mentioned that he is impressed with the performance and skill of Anjeneya and extended his support to Anjeneya by providing a financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 towards his education.

 

Anjaneya received many awards for his talent in art including National Award received in a Drawing Competition held at Edu DaanUtsav. Anjaneya hails from Bellary District of Karnataka, and the only son of Bhadranaik and Sharada. Born in 2002, Anjaneya is studying in Samarthanam School, HSR Layout. Though he is economically poor and physically challenged, he is dedicated towards pursuing higher studies. Samarthanam bore all the expenses of food and accommodation, text books, note books and stationary as well. Anjaneya participated in the Drawing Competition, “Nakshatra 2016” conducted by Bhoomi NGO where he bagged the First Prize in Foot Painting. He also participated in Inter School Athletics Meet held at Kitturu Rani Channamma Stadium and received First Prize in 100m Running Race.
